What Our Elders Can Teach Us
Just saw a video clip on Facebook that just made my day. Some younger dork appeared to be talking smack to an elderly gentleman. Near as I could tell, the older man moved to the front of the bus to get away from this idiot. Now while they both were still talkin at each other, I guess the younger man went to the front and grabbed the older gentleman while he was sitting down. To my shock, the older man stood up and through some punches that woulda made Ali proud. He busted up the lip of the other idiot leaving him bloodied and stunned. Oh, and he never landed a punch in response. You can hear a voice just before the punch saying something like, "bust his white ass up". Shows stupidity among the young is still an affliction that apparently can only be beaten out of ya. Really, we must take care of our older generation, show some respect, be kind and................DUCK!

Like What You Say Matters
Just saw a brief line on MSN. Stated something to the effect of , "Brad Pitt's harsh words for BP and other celebrity quotes". Ok, do any of YOU actually care what celebs say? Is anyone actually influnced by what these pampered whinebags do? I'm sure there are some. What baffles me is that we have devolved into a society void of any coherent thought by so many people. I know I wake up and get on the PC to see what famous people say so I know how to live my life. I remember it wasn't that long ago that Bono from U2 was imploring people to give til it hurt for whatever cause he was promoting that week. Now, don't get me wrong, I am all for giving help where needed. I tend to raise an eyebrow though to someone who tries layin guilt on us and still gets upwards of 250.00 per ticket to see his band in concert. Really? How bout lowering the price so we have more to give your cause, oh wait, that would make sense. Nevermind. Anyhow, maybe we need to pay attention to the real needs around us instead of worrying what the rich and spoiled think. Ya know, like paying teachers more, getting more money for our security here at home, paying a big thanks to our current and past veterans. There are so many other ways to improve our surroundings and life instead of giving a rats ass bout what Brad Pitt thinks.

Getting the Facts Straight For Once.
How cool it was to see the documentary, "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey". Finally, someone had the original thought of producing a documentary about a subject that a good 90 percent of people all over misinterpret. Can't tell you how many times over the years some ignorant people slam something only because they don't "get it". Just like any number of subjects, you can name several I'm sure. The beauty of the Sam Dunn (A Canadian Anthropologist) feature takes you on a trip around the world to ex-lore not only the multiple sub-genres of metal, but the people, bands and all else which go along with it. As Mr. Dunn is a fan of Metal, he could have easily done a piece which showed only the positive sides which many people miss, but the darker side that make the pundits scream, "see! told you it was evil!". But the part that many people don't get is that Metal has its own sub-culture, usually made up of a lot of people who are devoted to a fault. We all remember those guys (and girls), you know, the "Stoners", the "Freaks", and all the other clever names. Mr. Dunn covers that end of it as well, dare I say, showing they (ok "we") are actually fairly coherent. Yea, lots of people go through the David Cassidy, Justin Beiber, Leif Garrett phase and move on. What makes Metal fans different, is that we never outgrow it. In fact, I know several who were saved by it when "normal" people turned their backs on them. The film is weel done and seeing it again reminded of just how good it is.

Tolerance Has Its Limits
Keep hearing bout this proposed mosque near Ground Zero and the controversy erupting over the so-called multi-million dollar mosque/muslim center. Yea, I may be just stating my opinion.......but I'm willing to bet I'm not alone. Does this country even care about anything anymore? The administration is it's usual mute self. Man, how so many people have short memories. Why don't we just lay down and let everybody else decide what's good for us? Oh, don't you dare take a stand against something such as the mosque----you would then be "intolerant" of a specific group and/or groups. Tolerance ain't got a thing to do with it. How about the rights of those families whose loved ones were "MURDERED" and maimed in the very same area? I'm sure they will be labeled as "understandibly emotional" for their opposition. Count on something else too, this "tolerance" some refer to has its limits. I have reached mine.
